Admissions decisions will be based on an applicant's scholastic record, letters of recommendation, GRE scores, and capacity for creative and independent research. Because of Caltech's excellent reputation and training opportunities, competition for admission is very keen. Each year 12 to 15 students enter our program from a pool of at least 200 applicants.
Applications for graduate studies are reviewed and evaluated for admission (and financial aid) each year starting on December 15th, after all credentials (including recommendation letters and official copies of test scores) have been received.
